The Baku International Jazz Festival is set to take place on October 24. The annual festival organized by renowned saxophonist Rain Sultanov aims at showcasing Azerbaijan’s long-running attachment to the American-born art form, a connection first established in the country during the 1950s and 1960s, when jazz was outlawed by Soviet authorities.
This year, the festival is expected to attract many famous foreign musicians to the City of Winds, with performances featuring renowned music bands such as Plunge jazz trio, Gabriel Grossi Trio, Irakli Koiava Duet, Antonio Lizana Group, Dutch Deborah J Carter jazz quartet and others
